How We Pick the Top 5 Events Every Week at Shore Kids Adventures

Every week we comb through a wide range of local events to bring families the very best memory-making activities across Maryland’s Eastern Shore! These events are handpicked with care to ensure they’re ones kids will absolutely love. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we decide which events make our Top 5 list each week:

1) It’s All About the Kids

First things first: our Top 5 events need to have a strong focus on kids and families. We’re all about finding events that little ones will be excited about—the kind of activities they’ll talk about for days! While we do include adult-only events in our calendar, those rarely make it to the Top 5 because, let’s face it, this list is all about the kiddos.

2) Packed with Fun

Fun is non-negotiable! We look for events that are bursting with engaging activities for kids. Whether it’s crafts, games, live entertainment, or something interactive, we’re on the hunt for events that make kids light up with joy. And if two similar events are happening the same week? We’ll pick the one that offers the most fun-filled options for families.

3) Something Special

Unique events always catch our eye! If there’s something about an event that makes it stand out—like a one-of-a-kind performance, a cool seasonal activity, or an amazing venue—it’s much more likely to make our list. We love discovering those can’t-miss experiences and sharing them with our followers.

4) Spreading the Fun Around

We know our followers are spread out across Queen Anne’s, Talbot, Kent, Caroline, and beyond, so we try to include events from different areas whenever we can. While every week might not have perfect geographic balance, we’re always aiming to make sure there’s something nearby for everyone.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes secret: we spend a TON of time every week finding and confirming event details to make sure everything is accurate and easy to find. Most of our events come from Facebook Events because they’re the easiest to find and share.
